AP Budget Session to Commence on February 11 2026

The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly’s Budget Session schedule has been finalised. Governor S. Abdul Nazeer has announced that the fifth session of the 16th Legislative Assembly will commence on February 11 . An official notification to this effect was issued on Friday night.

Exercising powers vested in him under Article 174(1) of the Constitution of India , the Governor ordered the convening of both Houses of the Legislature at the Assembly Hall in Velagapudi .

On the opening day, the Governor will address a joint sitting of both Houses , marking the formal commencement of the Budget Session . This will be followed by a discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address. The discussion will begin on February 12 , with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu scheduled to reply on February 13 .

Immediately after the Governor’s address, the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) will meet to finalise the number of sitting days and agenda . The session is likely to continue for nearly four weeks .

The most significant agenda of the session will be the presentation of the annual Budget for the 2026–27 financial year on February 14 . Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav will present the General Budget , while Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu will table a separate Agriculture Budget on the same day.

The session is expected to witness detailed discussions on key policy decisions , financial planning , and allocations for public welfare schemes aimed at accelerating the State’s development .
