AP Advances NTR Bharosa Pension Distribution in Six North Andhra Districts
The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to advance the distribution of NTR Bharosa pensions by a day in six districts of North Andhra to ensure beneficiaries are not inconvenienced by arrangements for the inauguration of the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram.
Announcing the decision, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Kondapalli Srinivas said that pension payments, originally scheduled for July 31, will now be made on July 30 in view of the airport inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 1.
The minister said the change in schedule was made to ensure that beneficiaries receive their pensions without disruption while the administration remains engaged in preparations for the high-profile event.
According to the government, 11,98,044 beneficiaries across the six districts will receive pensions amounting to ₹514.42 crore. Officials have also been instructed to complete the withdrawal of the required funds by July 29 so that the distribution process can be carried out smoothly and on time.
The revised schedule will apply to the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Alluri Sitarama Raju, and Parvathipuram Manyam.
The minister directed district administrations to make all necessary advance arrangements to ensure the pension distribution is completed efficiently and without inconvenience to beneficiaries.
Reiterating the coalition government's commitment to public welfare, Kondapalli Srinivas said ensuring the timely delivery of welfare benefits remains a top priority, even as the state prepares for the inauguration of one of its flagship infrastructure projects.
