In a move aimed at combining spiritual heritage with modern development, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan virtually inaugurated several key projects in the Rajolu constituency on Thursday. Emphasizing sustainable progress, he said the coalition government’s priority is to bring lasting improvements to the lives of local residents.

Highlighting a landmark achievement, Pawan Kalyan launched a comprehensive drinking water scheme worth ₹17.33 crore , ending three decades of water scarcity in the region. The project will benefit nearly 30,000 residents across 13 villages, including Antarvedi, Pallepalem, and Gondi Panchayats. Previously, villagers had to source water from distances of up to 12 kilometers. The new scheme, fed by a 10-acre reservoir and a 3-million-liter treatment plant , will deliver clean drinking water directly to households. Additionally, water will be pumped from the Gannavaram canal , ensuring a continuous supply.

As part of further expansion, Pawan Kalyan laid the foundation for a 6-million-liter rapid sand filter plant at Gudimellanka, funded with ₹5 crore from ONGC and CSR contributions. Once operational, the plant will provide improved water supply to 1.2 lakh residents across 29 villages . Pointing out the limitations of groundwater in coastal areas, he noted that such initiatives are critical for public health.

The Deputy CM also reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the Jal Jeevan Mission , which aims to provide safe piped water to every household. He highlighted that under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu , rapid steps are being taken to strengthen rural infrastructure and raise living standards.

The virtual event saw participation from Minister Kinjirapu Atchannaidu , Rajolu MLA Dev Varaprasad , Konaseema District Collector Mahesh Kumar Ravirala , senior officials from the Rural Water Supply Department, and other local representatives.
