Anisimova beats Noskova to claim China Open

Amanda Anisimova capped off a stellar week in Beijing by clinching the China Open title with a hard-fought 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 victory over Czech teenager Linda Noskova in Sunday’s final.

The third seed started in dominant fashion, taking the opening set without conceding a game before Noskova mounted a spirited comeback in the second. But Anisimova, showing her trademark composure and shot precision, regained control in the decider to secure the match in one hour and 46 minutes. She sealed victory with a crisp backhand down the line, collapsing to the court in joy as she celebrated her first China Open crown.

The 23-year-old American, who had earlier ended defending champion Coco Gauff’s run in the semifinals, continued her strong season with a second WTA 1000 title of the year. Already ranked world No. 4, Anisimova has been in top form, having reached the finals at both Wimbledon and the U.S. Open.

For the 20-year-old Noskova, it was a breakthrough week becoming the youngest Czech to reach a WTA 1000 final since the format’s introduction in 2009.
