Andrew Tate, Tristan Tate Seek Miami Release In UK Extradition Battle

Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate have asked a US federal court in Miami to release them as they fight extradition to the UK, where they face allegations including rape, assault and human trafficking for sexual exploitation.

The brothers' lawyers filed a motion on Friday, arguing that their high public profile makes them unlikely to flee. They said the Tates regularly share their whereabouts online and have followed legal restrictions in Romania for years without trying to escape.

US prosecutors consider the brothers a flight risk and oppose their release. Their lawyers have proposed conditions to address those concerns. A detention hearing is expected next week, while the extradition process could take months.

The Tates were arrested in Miami on July 18 after British prosecutors brought new charges involving four additional alleged victims. The allegations, dating from 2010 to 2017, include rape, assault, trafficking and offences involving indecent images of a child and extreme pornography. They already face separate UK charges linked to three other alleged victims.

The defence has also raised concerns about the brothers' detention conditions in Miami. Their lawyers said they have limited contact with family, no television or radio and no access to the prison commissary. They are being held in a special unit for their protection.

The lawyers also argue that the UK extradition effort could interfere with the brothers' separate Romanian case. A Romanian court had approved extradition to Britain, but only after the Romanian proceedings were completed, according to their lawyers.

Both brothers deny wrongdoing. The UK has until mid-September to provide evidence supporting its extradition request, and no extradition hearing date has been fixed.

Andrew Tate, 39, and Tristan Tate, 38, are dual US and UK citizens and former professional kickboxers. Andrew has built a huge online following through controversial views on wealth, masculinity and women.
