Andhra Pradesh to sign $10 Billion Google MoU on October 14

The Andhra Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is set to sign a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Google on October 14, 2025, marking one of the largest foreign direct investments in the state’s history. The announcement was made via the Chief Minister’s official X account (@AndhraPradeshCM) on Sunday evening.

Details of the MoU The upcoming agreement is expected to expand Google’s presence in Visakhapatnam, building on a previous MoU signed in December 2024 to establish an AI Data Centre in the city. Earlier plans reported by Reuters in July 2025 outlined a $6 billion investment for a 1-gigawatt data centre, including $2 billion dedicated to renewable energy. Sources indicate that the new MoU could potentially increase the total investment to $10 billion, encompassing additional AI initiatives and infrastructure development. High-level discussions are anticipated with Google executives, including members of its Global Networking and Infrastructure team, alongside senior state officials. The project is expected to generate over 10,000 direct jobs, further reinforcing Andhra Pradesh’s position as a growing technology hub.

Investors summit scheduled for November In conjunction with the Google MoU, Chief Minister Naidu has revealed plans to host an Investors Summit in November 2025, with an invitation extended to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The summit aims to showcase the Google agreement and attract further foreign investments.

Historically, Andhra Pradesh’s Global Investors Summit in March 2023 attracted ₹13 lakh crore ($156 billion) in proposals and resulted in 340 signed MoUs, creating over six lakh jobs. The 2025 summit is expected to focus on technology, artificial intelligence, and renewable energy, leveraging the Google deal as an anchor investment. The event will likely be held at the Andhra University Engineering College grounds in Visakhapatnam, following the precedent of previous summits.
