Andhra Pradesh will roll out the Sanjeevani Project across the state from January 1 as part of efforts to transform the delivery of healthcare services through digital technology and integrated health records.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to ensure that the project is implemented comprehensively, stressing that the integration of digital health records could bring significant improvements to the way medical services are delivered. He said Andhra Pradesh should develop Sanjeevani into a model that other states could emulate in healthcare.

The Chief Minister also asked Tata MD, the project’s official partner, to focus on introducing innovative solutions and technologies in the healthcare sector and contribute to the successful implementation of the initiative.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that a 90-day action plan had been prepared to expand Sanjeevani across Andhra Pradesh. The plan includes conducting a baseline assessment, establishing digital infrastructure, training healthcare personnel, completing certification processes and integrating the system with national and state-level health portals.

Specialised training will be provided to healthcare personnel across the state’s 28 districts as part of the rollout.

A key component of the project will be the creation and use of digital medical records, allowing a patient’s medical history to be accessed electronically whenever required. Officials said this would enable doctors to obtain relevant information more quickly and support faster, more transparent and efficient healthcare delivery.

The government expects the system to improve continuity of care and reduce delays caused by the lack of readily available medical information. By making critical patient data accessible to authorised medical personnel, the initiative is also aimed at improving the overall quality of treatment.

The review meeting was attended by Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, Health Department Secretary Veerapandian, Joint Secretary Ronanki Gopalakrishna and representatives of Tata MD.
