Andhra Pradesh Sets New GST Record with ₹3,316 Crore Revenue in March

Andhra Pradesh has recorded its highest-ever GST collections for the month of March, reflecting steady fiscal performance. The state generated net GST revenue of ₹3,316 crore in March 2026 , registering a 10% increase compared to ₹3,015 crore in March last year, according to Commercial Taxes Chief Commissioner A. Babu.

The strong monthly performance aligns with a broader trend of consistent growth throughout the 2025–26 financial year. Overall GST revenues for the year grew by 6% , indicating resilience despite economic pressures. Gross GST collections for March, excluding cess, stood at ₹3,773 crore .

Total revenue collections across sectors reached ₹4,889 crore in March 2026 , up from ₹4,690 crore in the corresponding period last year. For the full financial year, GST collections touched ₹53,744 crore , marking a 4.73% increase over ₹51,319 crore recorded in 2024–25 .

Officials highlighted that the state has maintained a stable and above-average growth rate compared to neighbouring states, attributing the performance to efficient tax administration and a steady economic base.

At the same time, GST 2.0 reforms have introduced certain challenges. Efforts to streamline the tax system, including rate cuts and slab revisions, have affected revenue. The rate rationalisation implemented in September 2026 is expected to lead to an annual revenue loss of around ₹8,500 crore .

To address these challenges, the state has adopted advanced technological solutions. The integration of artificial intelligence and data analytics has improved transparency, strengthened compliance, and helped curb tax evasion, officials said.
