A prestigious honor was conferred upon S. Abdul Nazeer, the current Governor of Andhra Pradesh (since 2023), who was awarded the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) by the Karnataka State Law University (KSLU). The degree was presented by Shri Thaawar Chand Gehlot, Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka.

The honorary degree was received with deep gratitude by Governor Nazeer, who expressed appreciation to the University for this recognition. Such degrees are traditionally conferred on distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to law, governance, education, or public service.

Historically, KSLU has awarded honorary degrees to several eminent personalities. Notable recipients include Justice N. V. Ramana, former Chief Justice of India (2022); Dr. V. S. Acharya, former Karnataka Minister (2018); and Prof. R. S. Sharma, a distinguished academician (2015). These awards are intended to recognize contributions with national or international significance.

The conferment of this honorary degree on Governor S. Abdul Nazeer adds to the tradition of recognizing exceptional service and serves to inspire others in the fields of law and governance. KSLU continues to uphold its mission of promoting excellence in legal education and research in India.
