Andhra Pradesh Completes 100% Digitisation of Voter Enumeration Forms Under SIR Exercise

Andhra Pradesh has achieved complete digitisation of all voter enumeration forms collected as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Yadav has announced.

Releasing the latest SIR bulletin, Yadav said the Election Commission had successfully digitised every enumeration form distributed across the state, marking a significant milestone in the revision of voter lists ahead of the publication of updated electoral rolls.

The SIR exercise began on June 15 and was originally scheduled to conclude on July 14 . However, the Election Commission extended the process by 10 days , allowing eligible voters additional time to participate. The enumeration exercise will now continue until July 24 .

According to the CEO, more than 4.16 crore voters across Andhra Pradesh were issued enumeration forms during the drive. While a small number of records remain under technical reconciliation during data consolidation, the digitisation of all distributed forms has been completed.

Yadav highlighted the extensive field-level effort behind the exercise. A total of 46,397 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) , 68,868 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) , 175 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) , 1,076 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and 28 District Election Officers (DEOs) were involved in implementing the programme across the state.

During the enumeration phase, BLOs conducted door-to-door visits to distribute and collect forms from voters, ensuring broad coverage and participation. The extension of the deadline was approved by the Election Commission following a request from the Andhra Pradesh CEO to provide additional opportunities for citizens who had not yet completed the process.

The Commission has also outlined the next stages of the electoral roll revision. Rationalisation and reorganisation of polling stations will be completed by July 24 , after which the draft electoral roll will be published on July 31 .

From July 31 to August 30 , voters and stakeholders will be able to submit claims and objections regarding entries in the draft roll. Verification and disposal of these applications will continue until September 28 .

Following the completion of all statutory procedures, the final electoral roll for Andhra Pradesh is scheduled to be published on October 10 , providing the updated voter database for future elections in the state.
