Andhra Pradesh clears 102 energy projects worth ₹6 lakh Cr

During a two-day District Collectors’ meeting at the Amaravati Secretariat, Special Chief Secretary C.S.K. Vijayanand presented an overview of investments received by the Energy Department ahead of the 2025 Partnership Summit.

He stated that a total of 102 energy projects - including solar, wind, pumped storage, hydrogen, and rooftop solar initiatives - have been approved. Of these, 21 projects have already commenced construction, 16 have secured land allocation, and another 45 are in the land acquisition process. The remaining 20 projects are at the DPR (Detailed Project Report) or feasibility study stage.

The total investment for these projects is estimated at ₹6.04 lakh crore. They include 18,394 MW of wind power, 31,944 MW of solar power, and 36,210 MW of pumped storage projects. In total, 6.85 lakh acres of land will be required, of which 1,47,339 acres are revenue land. So far, 38,000 acres have been allocated, with the remaining land to be leased through NEDCAP (Non‑Conventional Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd).

Vijayanand also highlighted that during the recent Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam, the Energy Department signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for 50 projects worth ₹4.54 lakh crore, which are expected to generate employment for around 2.48 lakh people.

The Chief Minister has directed that all approved projects be grounded within 45 days, instructing district collectors to take the necessary measures to ensure timely implementation.
