Andhra Pradesh, Australia Explore Partnerships in Education, Green Energy and Aerospace
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday held high-level discussions with Philip Green OAM in Amaravati , as Andhra Pradesh stepped up efforts to strengthen international partnerships and attract global investments across key growth sectors.
The meeting focused on expanding cooperation between Andhra Pradesh and Australia in higher education, skilling, agri-tech, logistics, green energy and aerospace , sectors identified by the state government as central to its long-term economic roadmap.
Following the meeting, Naidu described the discussions as productive and aimed at opening new avenues of collaboration. “It was a pleasure to meet Philip Green OAM, High Commissioner of Australia to India, in Amaravati,” the Chief Minister posted on X, adding that both sides explored opportunities to deepen bilateral ties.
The dialogue comes at a time when Andhra Pradesh is aggressively positioning itself as a major investment destination under Naidu’s renewed development push after returning to power in 2024. The state government has intensified outreach to foreign governments, investors and global institutions as part of efforts to accelerate infrastructure growth and industrial expansion.
Officials said the talks centred on sectors where Australia holds significant expertise and where Andhra Pradesh is actively seeking partnerships. In the education sector, the discussions included possible collaboration with Australian universities and institutions in AI, fintech, vocational education, research and workforce training . Australia remains one of the preferred destinations for Indian students pursuing higher education.
The meeting also highlighted opportunities in agri-technology , with Australia recognised globally for precision farming, water management and climate-resilient agriculture areas considered crucial for Andhra Pradesh’s farming sector.
Cooperation in the green energy sector figured prominently as Andhra Pradesh pushes investments in solar power, green hydrogen, battery storage and clean manufacturing. Australia’s strengths in renewable technologies and critical minerals are expected to complement the state’s clean-energy ambitions.
The inclusion of logistics and aerospace in the discussions was also seen as strategically significant. Andhra Pradesh is seeking to leverage major ports such as Visakhapatnam, Krishnapatnam and Gangavaram to emerge as a logistics hub in the Indo-Pacific region while simultaneously promoting investments in aerospace parks, drone manufacturing and defence production.
The discussions also align with the state government’s broader vision of redeveloping Amaravati into a global economic and innovation centre through projects such as Knowledge City, Quantum Valley Tech Park and green urban infrastructure .
