Several new industrial initiatives in Sri City were announced on Friday, with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu virtually inaugurating five units from the venue of the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam. The announcements were made as part of the state’s efforts to attract fresh investments and strengthen the manufacturing ecosystem in the region.

During the event, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for 12 new projects were signed with various companies. These projects are proposed to be established in the engineering, food processing and pharmaceutical sectors, with a total investment commitment of ₹2,320 crore. According to government officials, the projects are expected to generate 12,365 employment opportunities once operations begin.

It was stated that the names of the companies involved in the 12 proposed projects have not yet been publicly disclosed. Officials indicated that the detailed list is expected to be released by the Industries Department or the Sri City authorities after the completion of formal procedures. Until then, the sectors, investment volume and employment projections remain the only officially confirmed details.

Sri City, an integrated business hub located in Tirupati district, continues to attract large-scale investments due to its strategic location, established industrial base and proximity to major ports and highways. The new units and proposed projects are expected to further expand its presence across multiple manufacturing segments.

The virtual inauguration by the Chief Minister was attended by Industries and IT Minister T.G. Bharat, State Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, and senior officials from the industries and infrastructure departments. The programme was positioned as a key component of Andhra Pradesh’s investment outreach at the 30th CII Partnership Summit, where the state has been presenting its industrial potential and policy support measures to domestic and global investors.

Officials stated that the new investments are aimed at boosting regional development, enhancing job creation and strengthening the state’s industrial corridors. They also indicated that follow-up actions will be taken to ensure timely grounding of the proposed projects.
