Andhra Guv Honours Martyrs’ Families, Reaffirms Support for Veterans

Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer on Friday reaffirmed that the state government’s Sainik Welfare Department is fully committed to addressing the problems faced by ex-servicemen.

The Governor made the remarks while participating as the chief guest at the Armed Forces Flag Day programme held at Durbar Hall, Lok Bhavan, Amaravati . The event honours the service and sacrifices of members of the Indian Armed Forces.

“Indian Armed Forces hold a special place in the hearts of all Indians and the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Sainik Welfare Department are fully committed to resolving the problems of ex-servicemen,” said Nazeer. He also saluted the Armed Forces for their valour, devotion to duty, and professionalism.

During the programme, the Governor released ‘Margadarsi’ , a compilation of welfare measures implemented by the state Sainik Welfare Department for ex-servicemen. The publication serves as a guide for veterans and their families , outlining the support and benefits available to them.

He also felicitated families of martyrs, gallantry award recipients, and other outstanding achievers, recognising their service and dedication.

The Sainik Welfare Department of Andhra Pradesh provides a range of support, including pension facilitation, rehabilitation and resettlement assistance, educational support for children of defence personnel, and schemes for widows of service members . While no new schemes were announced, the Governor’s remarks emphasised the state government’s continuing commitment to the welfare of ex-servicemen.
