
Andhra CM and Jagan congratulate Indian women's cricket team for entering World Cup final
India’s women’s cricket team’s dramatic semifinal victory over Australia in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 has drawn widespread praise from leaders across Andhra Pradesh, who described the performance as courageous, record-breaking, and a proud moment for the nation.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu hailed the team for its fearless and composed display against the defending champions. In a message on X (formerly Twitter), he noted that despite early setbacks, Jemimah Rodrigues delivered a stunning innings , while Captain Harmanpreet Kaur provided crucial support with 89 runs . “A stellar win by India’s women against Australia! Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also conveyed his congratulations, praising the players’ teamwork, discipline, and fighting spirit. He commended Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur for their exceptional performances and expressed confidence that India’s women were set to lift the World Cup in the final against South Africa, scheduled for November 2.
Minister for Information Technology Nara Lokesh applauded the team’s achievement, calling it a reflection of perseverance and years of preparation. He observed that the win showcased the evolution of Indian women’s cricket and would inspire a new generation of players to believe in their potential.
State Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy described the semifinal triumph as a proud day for every Indian . In his message shared through the Information and Public Relations Department, he expressed optimism that India would continue its winning momentum in the final. “Your victory today is a moment of pride for all Indians. With the same spirit, a grand win in the final is awaited,” he said.
