Ananya Panday Urges Audiences To Support Diverse Films In Theatres
Actor Ananya Panday has appealed to audiences to support a wide range of films in theatres, saying that the experience of watching movies on the big screen remains unmatched despite changing viewing habits.
Speaking to PTI on the sidelines of Amazon India’s Beautyverse event in Mumbai, the 27-year-old actor described herself as a passionate cinema lover and encouraged people to return to theatres more frequently.
“I love going and watching every kind of movie in a cinema,” Panday said, adding that nothing can replace the experience of sitting in a theatre, enjoying refreshments and becoming immersed in a story for a couple of hours. She urged audiences to give different genres of films a chance on the big screen.
The actor’s remarks come after her recent releases, the romance drama “Chand Mera Dil” and the romantic comedy “Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri” , failed to achieve major commercial success at the box office. Reflecting on the performance of her films, Panday said every project has its own journey and destiny.
According to the actor, “Chand Mera Dil” received appreciation from viewers for its performances and music, and she believes films continue to find audiences long after their theatrical run. “Films are forever and people will keep watching them,” she said.
Panday also spoke about the scrutiny women often face, both on screen and in public life. She acknowledged that such judgments have existed for years and cannot be changed overnight. However, she said individuals can contribute by presenting a more authentic version of themselves.
The actor noted that while she enjoys dressing up for professional engagements and public appearances, she also shares moments from her everyday life to show that glamour does not define reality.
The Beautyverse event featured several prominent personalities from the entertainment and fashion industries, including Shilpa Shetty, Sonakshi Sinha, Karisma Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Mira Kapoor, Urfi Javed and Maheep Kapoor.
