YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) district president and Anantapur constituency coordinator Anantha Venkatarami Reddy has urged elected representatives and party leaders to work in coordination with the common goal of developing Anantapur city and addressing public grievances. He stressed that positions and political power should be treated as opportunities to serve people rather than exercise authority.

Speaking at a special meeting held at the YSRCP district office in Anantapur on Friday, he called on party leaders to uphold the trust placed in them by voters and strengthen the organisation at the division level. The meeting was attended by newly elected municipal Mayor Ramesh Goud, winning and losing corporator candidates, and local party leaders. The gathering began with floral tributes to the statue of former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

Anantha Venkatarami Reddy said the party's victory in the municipal corporation elections was the result of the collective efforts of its leaders and workers. He appreciated the party cadre for continuing their work despite alleged attacks and intimidation by ruling coalition leaders during the elections.

He said candidates who lost by narrow margins in some divisions need not feel disappointed, as the collective efforts of everyone had helped the party secure the mayor's position. He urged elected representatives to remain accessible to people and fulfil every promise made during the campaign.

Emphasising corruption-free governance, he said maintaining peace and preventing irregularities should be the corporation's primary responsibilities. Alleging that attacks, intimidation and land encroachments had increased in the city since the coalition government assumed office, he said people had taken note of these developments and supported the YSRCP.

He also asked defeated candidates to remain connected with residents and work towards resolving division-level problems. The party would continue serving people irrespective of whether it was in power or opposition, he said.

Mayor Ramesh Goud assured that all representatives would work together to make Anantapur a clean, beautiful city and provide transparent, corruption-free administration. He thanked everyone who supported his election as mayor.
