Amberpet pond comes alive for Bathukamma celebrations

Bathukamma, celebrated every year just before Dussehra, is a festival that reflects the strength of women, traditions, and love for nature. This year, the Bathukamma celebrations will be held on September 25 at the local Bathukamma Kunta (Bathukamma pond). The festival lasts for nine days, starting with the “Engili Poolu Bathukamma” on the first day and ending with the “Saddula Bathukamma” on the last day. The pond at Amberpet has been specially prepared to host this year’s festivities.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will participate in the event on September 25 and will dedicate the revitalized pond to the public. The preparations have been reviewed at the field level by Chief Minister’s advisor Vem. Narendra Reddy and Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, while Hyderabad Commissioner Ranganath, GHMC Commissioner Karan, and Jalamandali MD Ashok Reddy also inspected the arrangements.

Officials have been instructed by Narendra Reddy to make the Bathukamma celebrations grand and worthy of national recognition. Mayor Vijayalakshmi praised the restoration efforts, saying that freeing the pond from encroachments and beautifying it is commendable.

The Bathukamma festival on September 25 will be a symbol of Telugu tradition and a reflection of Telangana’s spirit. Everyone is encouraged to participate and celebrate joyfully and peacefully.
