Ambati Rambabu’s Arrest Is Political Vendetta: Jagan

YSR Congress Party president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday accused the coalition government of undermining democracy and misusing power to target YSRCP leaders, calling it a “jungle raj.”

Jagan visited the vandalised residence-cum-office of former minister Ambati Rambabu at Siddhartha Nagar in Guntur and inspected the damaged vehicles and property. He later met Rambabu’s family and assured them of the party’s support.

Describing the attack as an attempt to murder, Jagan questioned the State’s law and order situation, alleging that opposition leaders were assaulted in the presence of police. He condemned the vandalisation of vehicles and the arson at the office, and alleged that while the accused were granted station bail, false cases were filed against Rambabu, leading to his remand to Rajamahendravaram jail. He termed this as political vendetta by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu .

On the Tirumala laddu ghee issue, Jagan reiterated that allegations of adulteration were false. He said reports from central laboratories, including NDDB and NDRI , confirmed that no animal fat was present, and that SIT and CBI investigations supported this. He accused Chandrababu Naidu , Pawan Kalyan , and Nara Lokesh of misleading the public and demanded an apology.

Jagan alleged that a liquor mafia was operating in the State and claimed that TDP leaders were behind the manufacture of fake liquor. He accused the government of suppressing dissent by filing false cases, including ganja cases, against those who questioned its policies, and said even social media activists were being targeted.

He warned police officials against acting illegally, stating they would be held accountable when YSRCP returned to power. Jagan also said the party would consider a State-wide bandh and approach the National Human Rights Commission if such practices continued.

Large crowds of supporters accompanied Jagan during his journey from Tadepalli to Guntur. Meanwhile, Revenue Minister A. Satya Prasad accused him of mobilising people beyond permitted limits, alleging the visit was politically motivated and could disturb public order.
