Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to accelerate the development of Amaravati , stating that the upcoming capital must be shaped as a key economic growth engine and a major destination for global investments. Chairing the 60th meeting of the APCRDA , he reviewed ongoing projects and laid emphasis on speed, quality, and globally competitive infrastructure.

He said the capital city should reflect Telugu cultural identity while also projecting a modern international image through landmark architecture and high-rise developments. Stressing the need for world-class planning, he called for fast-tracking major infrastructure works, including the proposed iconic bridge over the Krishna River linking Amaravati and Vijayawada , and urged innovative design standards for key government buildings such as the State Assembly.

To strengthen Amaravati’s economic profile, the Chief Minister proposed the establishment of a dedicated Financial District to attract banks and global financial institutions. He also directed the creation of integrated utility corridors to ensure reliable long-term infrastructure for water, power, and gas services.

The government approved significant allocations for key projects, including ₹1,208.41 crore for twin towers in Quantum Valley , ₹2,540 crore for Secretariat and Heads of Department towers, and ₹798 crore for Assembly civil works.

In a related development, representatives of BITS Pilani briefed the Chief Minister on their upcoming Amaravati campus. The institution will introduce Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Technology programmes, with admissions planned from 2027. The campus, being developed in three phases with an estimated investment of ₹250 crore, will eventually accommodate around 10,000 students.

The Chief Minister encouraged the institution to promote startups in quantum technology , reinforcing Amaravati’s vision as a future innovation hub. Officials from multiple departments, including municipal administration, CRDA, finance, forest, and AGCIL, attended the meeting.
