Amaravati Landowners Get Plots Through Transparent E-Lottery

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has expedited the process of allotting returnable plots to farmers who contributed land for the construction of the state’s new capital, Amaravati.

On Friday, an e-lottery held at the CRDA headquarters in Rayapudi resulted in the allocation of 115 plots to farmers across 16 units. Officials said the process was conducted in a fully transparent manner, in accordance with all regulations.

While preparations were made to allot a total of 145 plots, technical reasons and layout assessments led 30 farmers to request a postponement of their allotments. On Thursday evening, 15 farmers opted to defer, and another 15 requested changes after inspecting the layouts on Friday, leaving 115 plots to be allotted through the lottery .

Clarifying Rumors About Plot Development

CRDA officials dismissed circulating rumors regarding the plots. They emphasized that none of the allotted plots have any road cuts (“Road Shool”) , and south-facing plots should not be considered road cuts, as per established practice. Concerns regarding plots near burial grounds were also unfounded. Officials assured that every plot is fully developed in line with layout regulations before being handed over to farmers. They also clarified that plots were not allotted on lands of farmers who did not contribute to pooling.

Village-wise Plot Distribution

In this phase, the highest number of plots (58) were allotted to Nidamarra villages 1 and 2. Mandadam villages 1 and 2 received 15 plots, while Velagapudi and Malkapuram villages got 10 plots each. Other allocations included 6 plots each for Penumaka and Lingayapalem, 5 plots each for Kuragallu villages 1 and 2, 2 plots for Nelapadu, and one plot each for Nekkallu, Anantavaram, and Dondapadu villages.

Preparations for Second Phase of Land Pooling

So far, 29,881 farmers from 29 villages have contributed approximately 34,281 acres of land under the Amaravati project. To expand the government’s total land bank of 54,000 acres , CRDA has already initiated the second phase of the land pooling process .
