Allu Arjun’s ‘Raaka’: Babloo Prithiveeraj Confirms Role, Hints At Massive Scale
Allu Arjun and Atlee’s much-awaited ‘Raaka’ is continuing to generate buzz with fresh updates about its cast, shooting and ambitious technical work. The film was recently in the news over reports claiming a December 31, 2027 release, although the exact date has not been officially confirmed. Recent reports, however, continue to suggest that the film is targeting December 2027.
The latest update comes from Babloo Prithiveeraj, who played a significant role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’. In a recent Telugu interview, the actor confirmed that he is part of ‘Raaka’ and revealed that he has a prominent role with a distinct look. He also spoke about working with Atlee and said sharing the screen with Allu Arjun is a dream come true.
Babloo further revealed that the film has an international scale and Hollywood technicians, but refused to disclose details about his character because of an agreement with the makers. Sun Pictures and Atlee are yet to formally announce the complete supporting cast.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun has reportedly completed an important Mumbai schedule for the film. The production is expected to continue through the end of 2026, followed by an extensive post-production phase because of the film’s heavy visual effects requirements.
Rashmika Mandanna is also preparing to resume filming after recovering from a hip injury. A recent behind-the-scenes video offered a glimpse of the film’s advanced technology, including motion capture and a 3D facial model created for Rashmika. The development has further highlighted the scale of Atlee’s sci-fi action project.
The film’s planned glimpse has also reportedly been postponed, with no fresh release date announced so far. Meanwhile, reports suggest that ‘Raaka’ could face major competition if it arrives in December 2027, with other big-ticket films also eyeing the festive window.
‘Raaka’ stars Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone, while Rashmika Mandanna and Mrunal Thakur are among the reported cast members. Other names have also been linked to the project, but several of these casting reports remain officially unconfirmed. Sai Abhyankkar is composing the music.
With its massive budget, international technical crew, extensive VFX and large-scale production, ‘Raaka’ is shaping up as one of Allu Arjun’s biggest projects. For now, fans will have to wait for Sun Pictures and Atlee to officially announce the final release date, complete cast and next major promotional update.
