Allu Arjun–Lokesh Kanagaraj’s AA23 Not Shelved? Director Teases Exciting Updates

Speculation surrounding Allu Arjun and director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s much-anticipated film, tentatively titled AA23, has intensified on social media, with rumours suggesting that the project has been shelved due to disagreements over the script. However, Lokesh’s latest Instagram post has renewed hopes among fans that the collaboration remains on track.

The filmmaker shared a picture of himself engaged in story discussions with Allu Arjun and hinted that interesting updates would be announced soon. The post has fuelled excitement among fans awaiting further details about the project, although it does not independently confirm the film’s production schedule.

The film, also referred to as LK7, marks Allu Arjun’s 23rd project as a lead actor and Lokesh’s seventh directorial venture. Mythri Movie Makers officially announced the collaboration in January 2026, unveiling a promotional teaser that generated considerable excitement. The announcement indicated that production would begin in 2026, with the film planned for a pan-Indian release. Anirudh Ravichander has been announced as the music composer.

Recent reports have claimed that Allu Arjun was dissatisfied with certain portions of Lokesh’s narration and sought changes to the screenplay, particularly its second half. There have also been suggestions that the actor was considering scripts from other filmmakers. However, neither Allu Arjun nor Lokesh Kanagaraj has officially confirmed these claims. Similarly, the makers have not announced that the project has been cancelled.

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is occupied with Raaka, his upcoming film directed by Atlee. The ongoing project is expected to take up a significant portion of his schedule, potentially affecting the timeline for his collaboration with Lokesh.

With the director now teasing upcoming announcements, fans will be watching closely for clarity on the film’s shooting schedule and other details. Until an official statement arrives, reports of AA23 being shelved should be treated as unverified speculation.
