All political drama: BJP leader N.V. Subhash criticises Kavitha’s new party
The BJP has reacted sharply to former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s daughter, K. Kavitha , announcing a new political party named “Telangana Rashtra Sena (TRS)” . The BJP’s Telangana unit on Saturday dismissed it as merely “political drama” being played out by the Kalvakuntla family.
BJP State chief spokesperson N.V. Subhash , in an official statement, criticised the developments within the KCR family as nothing but a staged act aimed at misleading the public. He said that after being in power for a decade since 2014 and facing a setback in the 2023 elections , portraying internal family differences now is “laughable.”
Subhash recalled that the party was originally formed as “Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS)” by leveraging Telangana sentiment, and later renamed “Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS)” for national ambitions. He questioned the intent behind launching yet another party with a similar name “TRS (Telangana Rashtra Sena)” and alleged that Kavitha’s expulsion from the party followed by her new political launch was part of a pre-scripted plan .
Citing the political trajectory of Y.S. Sharmila in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, said people have already seen such experiments starting a separate party and eventually merging or adjusting with another party. He remarked that such “split dramas” are aimed only at confusing voters.
Subhash also rejected allegations that the BJP had opposed the formation of Telangana, asserting that the party had supported statehood in Parliament from the beginning and played a constructive role in the process. He expressed confidence that people are seeking transparent governance , and said such political theatrics would not hinder the BJP’s growth.
