All India Police Chiefs’ conference in Raipur starting from today

Raipur, Chhattisgarh, is set to host the 60th edition of the All India Conference of Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police from starting today to 30, 2025, at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the conference from November 29–30, continuing his tradition of engaging closely with top police leadership to encourage innovation, reform and strategic planning in the country’s policing system. He will also confer the President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service during the event.

The All India Conference of Police chiefs is the country’s premier annual gathering of senior police leaders and security administrators, designed to deliberate on major national security challenges and strengthen coordination among central and state security agencies. The conference acts as a vital platform for formulating strategies, sharing best practices, and discussing professional, operational and welfare-related aspects of policing. Since its transformation in 2014 under the Prime Minister’s guidance, the conference has adopted a more interactive, technology-driven and outcome-focused format. It has also been hosted at diverse and symbolic locations across India to promote wider participation.

This year’s overarching theme, “Viksit Bharat: Security Dimensions,” reflects the focus on building a Surakshit Bharat in alignment with the national vision of Viksit Bharat . The agenda includes in-depth discussions on critical issues such as Left-Wing Extremism, counter-terrorism, women’s safety, disaster management, cyber and AI-enabled crimes, and the enhanced use of forensic science and artificial intelligence in policing. Senior officers will also discuss the improvement of police infrastructure, welfare measures, law and order strategies, and internal security management.

For the first time, apart from DGPs, Heads of the Home Department of States/UTs and selected cutting-edge police officers in the ranks of DIG and SP will also participate physically to bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions. The Union Home Minister, National Security Adviser, Ministers of State for Home Affairs, and Heads of Central Police Organisations will attend the conference, making it a comprehensive consultation on national security priorities.

With business sessions, thematic dining discussions, and breakout interactions, participants will have the opportunity to share their insights directly with the Prime Minister on key policing and security issues, reinforcing the government's emphasis on collaborative planning and futuristic policing.
