All government services must be delivered online through ‘Manamitra’: AP Government
The Andhra Pradesh government is taking decisive steps to fully digitise governance across the State , with a clear mandate that all public services offered by every government department must be delivered online and through the ‘Manamitra’ WhatsApp governance platform , IT and RTG Secretary Bhaskar Katamneni has said.
Addressing a high-level meeting at the Secretariat chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu , Bhaskar Katamneni said that data-driven governance is the only way to ensure efficient and seamless service delivery to citizens . He emphasised that the Chief Minister’s vision is to provide uninterrupted public services through WhatsApp governance , and stated that necessary arrangements have already been completed to achieve this objective.
Expressing displeasure, the IT Secretary pointed out that despite the availability of technology, some departments are still delivering services manually . He made it clear that manual processes must be completely discontinued , directing officials to offer services exclusively through online platforms and ‘Manamitra’ . He also instructed district collectors to take responsibility for creating awareness at the grassroots level about this transition.
Bhaskar Katamneni further disclosed that data integration across departments has already been completed , and announced that 98 Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based use cases will be rolled out by the end of April to support departmental operations and improve governance outcomes.
He assured departments that the IT Department would extend all required technical support , and said that additional AI use cases would be developed based on department-specific requirements , apart from the 98 already under preparation.
Referring to the ‘Aware’ wing of the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) , he said it would provide multiple benefits, including weather-related intelligence , adding that nearly 50 different solution models are currently being developed under the Aware framework. He urged all departments to make effective use of this system to enhance service delivery and decision-making.
