Alarming visa revocations underway after foreigners celebrate Kirk’s killing

U.S. Secretary of State, Acting National Security Advisor, Marco Rubio has confirmed that visa revocations are already in motion for foreign nationals who publicly celebrated the assassination of Senator John Kirk. Rubio described the celebrations as “shameful” and warned that those involved should “prepare to be deported.”

According to Rubio, federal authorities have begun flagging student and work visa holders who glorified Kirk’s death on social media or at public gatherings. “The United States will not be a safe haven for people who cheer the murder of an American leader,” he declared.

Kirk, a veteran Republican lawmaker, was assassinated last week, prompting widespread grief. While tributes flowed from across the political spectrum, scattered displays of celebration by some foreigners in the U.S. provoked outrage among conservatives.

Rubio said the State Department and Department of Homeland Security are coordinating to revoke visas and initiate deportations. He insisted that the immigration system should welcome those who respect American values, not those who glorify violence.

The decision, however, is sparking debate. Critics warn the policy risks blurring the line between legitimate free speech and national security enforcement, while immigration advocates say hasty deportations could trample due process rights.
