Akasa Air and Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) have announced a phased transition of Akasa Air’s Mumbai–Jeddah flight operations from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) to Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), effective December 2026.

The move is aimed at strengthening international connectivity and supporting the development of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region’s dual-airport system, offering passengers greater choice and more convenient access to air travel.

According to the announcement, Akasa Air’s flights between Mumbai and Jeddah will operate from Navi Mumbai International Airport from December. Bookings for the flights opened on Monday through Akasa Air’s official website, Android and iOS applications, and leading online travel agencies.

The transition builds on Akasa Air’s existing presence at NMIA and is expected to strengthen the airport’s role as an important aviation gateway for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The development also supports the gradual expansion of international services from the newly established airport.

Meanwhile, Akasa Air has extended the suspension of its flights to and from Jeddah until November 10, 2026, and Riyadh until November 30, 2026, citing the evolving security situation in Saudi Arabia.

In a travel update posted on X on October 23, the airline said the decision followed a careful assessment of the prevailing security situation and safety conditions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It added that it was closely monitoring developments and assessing the situation in real time.

Passengers affected by the cancellations can choose a full refund, which will be credited to their original payment method within seven days, or reschedule their journeys without additional charges. Passengers who booked tickets through travel partners have been advised to contact them directly for assistance.

The airline reiterated that the safety and well-being of passengers and crew remain its highest priority.

The planned December transition marks a further step in Akasa Air’s expansion at Navi Mumbai International Airport, although the airline’s immediate Jeddah and Riyadh services remain subject to the announced suspension timelines.
