Ajith Kumar’s 'Daredevil' Begins with Star-Studded Pooja in Chennai
Actor Ajith Kumar’s 64th film, 'Daredevil', officially commenced its journey with a star-studded traditional pooja ceremony in Chennai on November 2. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, the film marks the reunion of the actor and filmmaker following their successful 2025 collaboration, 'Good Bad Ugly'.
The project is being produced by Ajith's wife, Shalini Ajith Kumar, under her newly launched banner, Bravehearts Production. The ceremony was attended by music composer Anirudh Ravichander and actors Sreeleela, Unni Mukundan, Prabhu, R. Parthiban, Sunil and Redin Kingsley. Filmmakers A.R. Murugadoss, H. Vinoth, Venkat Prabhu and Siva were also among those present.
A notable feature of the ceremony was an altar displaying images and symbols representing Goddess Saraswathi, Sai Baba, Jesus Christ and Allah. A muhurat shot featuring Sreeleela was reportedly filmed, with Shalini giving the first clap.
Ajith did not attend the event as he was reportedly in Dubai. The actor has been concentrating on his motorsports commitments, including international endurance racing, in recent months.
The film's cast includes Unni Mukundan in a pivotal role, with reports suggesting he may portray the antagonist. Sreeleela is also expected to play an important character, reportedly requiring strong dancing skills. Other cast members include Prabhu, Parthiban, Sunil and Redin Kingsley.
The technical team includes Anirudh Ravichander as music composer, Abinandhan Ramanujam as cinematographer, Vijay Velukutty as editor and Supreme Sundar as stunt choreographer.
Filming is scheduled to begin in Hyderabad on November 12, with the city expected to host a substantial portion of the production. The team reportedly shifted the initial shooting plan from Chennai because of unfavourable weather conditions. Subsequent schedules are planned in Thailand and Malaysia.
Adhik has indicated that 'Daredevil' will explore a different genre from 'Good Bad Ugly'. The film's first-look poster carried the tagline 'No Retakes Allowed', adding to anticipation surrounding Ajith's next big-screen appearance.
