An Air India flight en route from Bengaluru to London was diverted to Jeddah on Monday following a suspected technical issue , the airline confirmed.

Flight AI133 , operated using a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, had been airborne for over six hours before the crew opted for a precautionary diversion . The aircraft landed safely at Jeddah Airport at 7:58 pm IST , ensuring the safety of all passengers and crew onboard.

In an official statement, an airline spokesperson said the decision to divert was taken in line with standard safety protocols after detecting a potential technical concern mid-flight. “The aircraft is currently undergoing detailed technical inspections as per established procedures,” the spokesperson said.

While the airline has not disclosed the exact number of passengers on board, it confirmed that there were no injuries or safety incidents during the diversion and landing.

Air India added that it is working closely with airport authorities in Jeddah and local agencies to provide necessary assistance , including accommodation and onward travel arrangements for affected passengers.

According to data from Flightradar24, the aircraft had been in the air for several hours before altering its route toward Jeddah.
