AIMIM’s Owaisi Thanks Voters, Tells Rival Parties to Reassess Their Loss

AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi thanked the people for electing 125 corporators from his party in the Maharashtra municipal corporation elections and said that the defeated parties must certainly introspect.

Speaking at a media conference held in Hyderabad on Saturday, Owaisi said the people’s verdict was clear. “Victory has many fathers, but defeat has none, defeat is an orphan. The parties that lost should reflect on why they were defeated,” he remarked. He added that those who label his party as the BJP’s “B-Team” should first focus on their own failures. He also clarified that there were no doubts regarding the voters’ list.

Owaisi said that AIMIM is buoyed by its success in Maharashtra and is now preparing for the upcoming Telangana municipal elections. He revealed that the party has already invited names of interested candidates.

Responding to a question about the Thackeray brothers coming together, he said the people’s verdict is visible to everyone. He pointed out that Uddhav Thackeray’s candidate won even in the residential constituency of Eknath Shinde .

Owaisi expressed confidence that the corporators elected on behalf of his party would remain with AIMIM. However, he said all precautions were being taken to prevent any defections. “Our party has won, and I am happy. I do not know about others,” he concluded.
