Ahmedabad Adani Marathon #Run4OurSoldiers sees 24,000 runners
Ahmedabad turned into a vibrant track of energy and emotion on Sunday as the ninth Adani Ahmedabad Marathon attracted nearly 24,000 runners across the full marathon, half marathon, 10 km and 5 km categories. Though the event is dedicated to honouring India’s armed forces, it continues to remain an open, inclusive platform for everyone, from fitness enthusiasts and amateur runners to elite athletes and defence personnel.
This year’s half marathon was flagged off by Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises, along with actors Mandira Bedi, known for her work in films and sports hosting, and Preeti Jhangiani, an actress and producer. Thousands lined up at the starting point in cool morning conditions, setting a spirited tone for the race day.
On the competitive front, Army runners dominated the podium in both men's and women's open and defence categories, with several of them breaking previous event records. Their performances highlighted not only superior fitness but also the disciplined training that defence athletes bring to national sporting events.
Amid these stellar finishes, civilian runners delivered inspiring stories of personal achievement. One such highlight came from Ram Prakash, who completed the full marathon in 3:39:02, slashing more than 90 minutes off his previous best. For many participants, the race symbolised determination, community, and the joy of pushing personal boundaries.
Organisers ensured seamless arrangements, from hydration stations to route management, making the experience smooth for all participants. As the marathon completed nine successful editions, it once again proved why it has grown into one of India’s most anticipated running events: a unique blend of athletic spirit and heartfelt gratitude for the country’s armed forces.
