Ahead of Coimbatore visit, Nitin Nabin targets DMK-Congress rule in Tamil Nadu

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national working president Nitin Nabin on Friday launched a sharp attack on the ruling DMK-Congress alliance in Tamil Nadu, alleging that corruption and governance failures under the coalition had affected every section of society and asserting that the State was prepared for political change.

Ahead of his two-day visit to Coimbatore, Nabin said in a post on social media platform X that the DMK-INC dispensation had failed on governance and accused it of running an “oppressive regime.” He claimed that people across Tamil Nadu were seeking an alternative that could deliver real development and accountability.

As part of his visit, Nabin is scheduled to address the BJP’s “Professionals Connect” programme at the SNR Auditorium in Nava India, Coimbatore, on Friday. Several senior party leaders, including Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri , Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan , BJP Mahila Morcha national president and legislator Vanathi Srinivasan , and Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagenthran , are expected to participate in the event.

Later in the day, Nabin will interact with Sakthi Kendra in-charges in Coimbatore as part of the party’s organisational outreach. On January 11, he is slated to attend the BJP’s core committee meeting and address booth-level agents at Singanallur, focusing on strengthening grassroots-level mobilisation ahead of upcoming political challenges.

Concluding his visit, Nabin will offer prayers at the Perur Pateeswarar Temple and Marudhamalai Murugan Temple. He will also participate in the “Namma Ooru Modi Pongal” programme at Vadavalli, marking the festival celebrations with party workers and supporters.
