Advanced Technology Centre Launched in Chennur to Boost Skills, Jobs for Youth
Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and Vivek Venkataswamy performed the bhoomi puja (groundbreaking ceremony) for the construction of an Advanced Technology Centre (ATC) building in Chennur town. The project, being taken up with an estimated cost of Rs 47.11 lakh , is aimed at creating a modern skill development facility that can directly support local youth with employable technical training.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Jupally said the state government is establishing Advanced Technology Centres with the clear mission of ensuring that young people gain not only education but also immediate employment opportunities . He explained that these centres are being built to reduce unemployment by offering training aligned with the latest industry requirements, thereby making students job-ready as soon as they complete their course.
The minister added that the programme is being implemented with the support of Tata Technologies Limited , under the Telangana government’s plan to upgrade 65 ITIs into ATCs through a long-term partnership. He said that through this initiative, students will receive training in industry-relevant courses and trades , designed to match the needs of modern manufacturing and emerging technologies.
Highlighting the importance of this initiative for the Chennur region, Minister Jupally praised Minister Vivek Venkataswamy for taking special interest in bringing the ATC to this area. He said the centre will help youth in the backward region gain access to modern technological knowledge , bridging the gap between rural talent and industrial employment needs.
Jupally stressed that the Congress-led government is committed to strengthening youth livelihoods by creating more opportunities for them to stand independently. He asserted that skill development is the permanent solution to unemployment , and therefore the ATC will provide training not only to students who have completed their education but also to school dropouts , enabling them to secure sustainable employment or self-employment.
The ministers also underlined that the Chennur ATC is part of a broader transformation of the state’s skilling ecosystem. Telangana has already launched several ATCs across the state and projected them as hubs for Industry 4.0 skills , including new-age industrial technologies and automation-oriented courses. In September 2025, the government inaugurated ATCs across Telangana, positioning them as a major step toward improving job readiness among youth.
Recalling ongoing development works in the constituency, Minister Jupally said projects worth Rs 50 crore have already been launched in Chennur and that additional works of another Rs 50 crore will be started soon. He noted that the government is giving equal priority to both urban development and rural progress , so that growth reaches all sections of society.
Concluding his remarks, the minister reiterated that the core goal of ATCs is to equip youth with advanced industrial skills and improve their chances of securing stable employment. He said that strengthening youth capabilities will accelerate the state’s overall development, and every initiative taken in this direction is dedicated to youth empowerment and long-term economic progress.
