Adivi Sesh’s G2 Delayed Again? New Release Date Sparks Buzz
Adivi Sesh’s much-awaited spy thriller G2, the sequel to the 2018 hit Goodachari, is reportedly heading for a 2027 theatrical release after missing its earlier release plans.
Directed by Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi, the film was previously scheduled to hit theatres on May 1, 2026. However, the production has taken longer than expected, with the makers mounting the sequel on a significantly larger scale. According to the latest industry reports, G2 is now targeting February 5, 2027 for its theatrical release. An official announcement from the makers is expected soon.
The sequel brings back Adivi Sesh as the spy at the centre of the franchise. Unlike the first film, G2 is being designed as a more expansive, pan-India action thriller. Reports have indicated that the film's production has involved shooting across six countries, adding an international scale to the story. The project has also been mounted on a reported budget of around Rs 100 crore.
The production recently entered another important phase, with a massive action set constructed in Hyderabad for a crucial schedule. Sesh had earlier indicated that the July schedule would be one of the most important portions of the film.
The cast includes Wamiqa Gabbi as the female lead and Emraan Hashmi in a key role. Madhu Shalini, Prakash Raj and Jisshu Sengupta are also part of the ensemble. Wamiqa's character was introduced as an agent in the franchise, while Hashmi's involvement marks a significant addition to the spy thriller's cast.
Adivi Sesh is also credited as the writer of the film, while Sricharan Pakala is composing the music. The project is being produced by T.G. Vishwa Prasad, Abhishek Agarwal and Anil Sunkara under People Media Factory, Abhishek Agarwal Arts and AK Entertainments.
With the latest reported release window pushing the film into 2027, fans of Goodachari will now be waiting for the makers to officially confirm the new date and unveil more details about the sequel.
