Urging citizens to recognise their social responsibility in assisting road accident victims, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar delivered an important message. In a video released on X, he stated, "Nothing is more valuable than life," and called on people to act as ‘Rah-Veer’ volunteers and become lifesavers during emergencies.

He appealed to the public not to hesitate out of fear but to help victims within the ‘Golden Hour’ the first hour after an accident. Explaining the Central Government’s ‘Rah-Veer’ scheme , he said those who ensure timely medical assistance to accident victims will receive a cash reward of ₹25,000 along with a certificate of appreciation. At the national level, the best contributors will be awarded ₹1,00,000 . He clarified that those who help will face no trouble from the police or courts , and will not be compelled to disclose details or make repeated court visits.

Sajjanar advised people against wasting crucial time filming accidents on their phones, urging them instead to use that time to save lives. He emphasised that even small acts of help can make the difference between life and death. He added that under the Telangana government’s ‘Praja Palana–Pragati Pranalika’ , awareness on road safety is being promoted through the ‘Arrive Alive’ programme. He expressed hope that every citizen would contribute towards building a road accident-free society .
