Accused in UP Woman-Children Murder Case Killed in Police Encounter
In a major breakthrough in the sensational killing of a woman and her four children , police on Monday said the main accused was killed in a police encounter , bringing crucial clarity to a case that had initially baffled investigators.
The incident came to light on May 2 when locals alerted police about a locked house in the Miranpur locality under Akbarpur police station . Inside, officers found the blood-soaked bodies of four siblings on a bed, all bludgeoned to death with a blunt object , possibly bricks. The victims, aged between 8 and 14, lived with their mother while their father worked in Saudi Arabia.
The case took a dramatic turn a day later when the mother’s body was recovered from a drain , barely 100 metres from the house, overturning initial suspicion against her and confirming she too was a victim. Injuries on her body indicated foul play , police said.
Police identified the accused as 19-year-old Aamir, who was tracked through CCTV footage and technical surveillance . He was cornered near a bypass early Monday while allegedly trying to flee. When asked to surrender, he opened fire on the police team, leading to retaliatory firing , in which he was killed. Two policemen were also injured, and a pistol and cartridges were recovered from the scene .
Investigators believe the motive involved a mix of obsession and property dispute , with the accused allegedly seeking to control the woman’s assets. Police said forensic reports are awaited to determine the exact sequence of events , though the core mystery has largely been resolved.
