ACB Seizes ₹1.5 Crore Cash, Gold Bars From Bank Lockers Linked to Telangana Revenue Official
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has uncovered additional unaccounted assets in its disproportionate assets case against a senior Survey and Land Records Department official, seizing ₹1.5 crore in cash , nearly two kilograms of gold bars , and diamond jewellery from bank lockers linked to his family.
According to ACB officials, the valuables were recovered during searches conducted on Saturday in two bank lockers held in the name of the wife of S. Narahari Rao , Deputy Director of Survey and Land Records (Multi Zone-II).
The latest seizure comes days after the ACB carried out extensive raids on June 16 at the officer’s residence and properties belonging to his relatives, during which assets worth more than ₹13 crore were allegedly identified. Following the searches, Narahari Rao was arrested and has since been remanded to judicial custody.
Investigators obtained search warrants from the court before inspecting the lockers, leading to the discovery of the additional cash, gold, and jewellery. The agency said the findings form part of its ongoing probe into allegations that the official amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The ACB stated that verification of several other properties linked to the accused is still underway and that further investigation into the case is continuing.
