ACB Books Vinukonda Official as Raids Expose Undeclared Wealth

In a major anti-corruption action in Andhra Pradesh , the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Yadala Maheswara Rao , the Revenue Officer (RVO) of Vinukonda Municipality and additional In-charge Commissioner of Darsi Municipality, after finding assets far beyond his known official income. ACB officials registered a disproportionate-assets case under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 , following credible information about unexplained wealth linked to the officer.

On January 31, 2026 , ACB teams conducted coordinated raids at five locations connected to Maheswara Rao and his family members in Darsi, Narasaraopet, and Sattenapalli areas of Prakasam and Palnadu districts. Investigators seized key property documents, bank transaction records, and incriminating financial materials during these searches.

Officials identified significant immovable assets held in the names of the accused, his mother, wife, and son , including nine house plots, two residential flats, and 0.89 acres of agricultural land . Among movable assets, the ACB recovered approximately ₹2.60 lakh in cash , about ₹55,000 in bank deposits , 729 grams of gold , and around 9.275 kilograms of silver . A car, three motorcycles, and other valuable household items were also seized.

Following the investigation and seizure, the ACB arrested Maheswara Rao and intends to produce him before the Special Court for ACB Cases in Nellore as part of the ongoing legal process. The bureau has appealed to citizens to report incidents of bribery or corruption through its toll-free number and official channels.

Maheswara Rao’s career began in 1998 when he joined the Municipal Administration Department as a Bill Collector under a compassionate appointment. Over the years, he was promoted to Junior Assistant and Senior Assistant, serving in several municipal offices before becoming a Revenue Officer at Vinukonda. For the past three years, he has also held additional charge as the In-charge Commissioner of Darsi Municipality.
