Abu Dhabi T10 2025 Opens with Star-Studded Line-Up, 32 Matches in 12 Days

The build-up to the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 season was marked by a gathering of global cricket stars at the Zayed Cricket Stadium, where the 'Global Legends' and 'Icon' players of all eight franchise teams were brought together ahead of the season opener. The curtain-raiser was attended by leading international names, including Kieron Pollard (UAE Bulls), Thisara Perera (Northern Warriors), Angelo Mathews (Royal Champs), Faf du Plessis (Vista Riders), Sam Billings (Aspin Stallions), Nicholas Pooran (Deccan Gladiators), and Moeen Ali (Ajman Titans). Their presence was highlighted in an official release by Abu Dhabi T10.

It was stated by Kieron Pollard that the growth of local UAE cricket talent had been impressive, and that sharing the field with them in this competition was considered special. Moeen Ali noted that the UAE had evolved into a major global cricketing hub, supported by world-class infrastructure and an increasingly passionate fan base. Nicholas Pooran added that the UAE had long held a significant place in his cricketing journey and had become a home away from home.

The 2025 edition of the tournament has been scheduled to feature 32 matches to be played across 12 days, with all fixtures set to be held at the Zayed Cricket Stadium. The event’s high-speed T10 format where each team bats for 10 overs and matches last only about 90 minutes has been designed to provide fast-paced entertainment. The eight participating franchise teams include UAE Bulls, Northern Warriors, Royal Champs, Vista Riders, Aspin Stallions, Quetta Qavalry, Deccan Gladiators, and Ajman Titans. The tournament remains a purely franchise-based competition, and national teams including India are not part of the event. Participation by active Indian cricketers has also not been permitted due to existing BCCI regulations restricting involvement in overseas leagues.

The season will begin with a match between new entrants Quetta Qavalry and Northern Warriors, followed by a clash between defending champions Deccan Gladiators and the UAE Bulls. A round-robin structure will be followed, with all teams playing against each other across 28 league matches. The top four teams will advance to the playoffs, which have been scheduled for November 29 and 30.

Qualifier 1 (1st vs 2nd) and the Eliminator (3rd vs 4th) will be played on November 29. The winner of the Eliminator will compete against the loser of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2 on November 30, after which the Grand Final will take place later that day, deciding the champion of the 2025 season. The Zayed Cricket Stadium, known for its fast outfield and electric match-day environment, will serve as the exclusive venue for the tournament.
