Abhishek Bachchan honors Big B at 70th filmfare awards 2025

Actor Abhishek Bachchan paid tribute to his father, legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, at the 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 with Gujarat Tourism on Saturday night. The event was held in Mumbai, marking a celebration of Indian cinema and its talent.

During the ceremony, Abhishek performed a medley of some of Big B’s most popular songs spanning several decades. The performance evoked nostalgia among the audience, and his mother, veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, was visibly emotional as she watched from her seat.

In addition to the tribute, Abhishek Bachchan won the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) award for his performance in I Want to Talk. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film tells the story of Arjun Sen, a Bengali man pursuing the American dream, who learns he has only 100 days to live and strives to reconnect with his estranged seven-year-old daughter.

The awards ceremony also honoured several other actors and filmmakers. Kartik Aaryan shared the Best Actor award with Abhishek for Chandu Champion, while Alia Bhatt won the Best Actress award for her performance in Jigra. Nitanshi Goel received the Best Debut Actor (Female) award for Laapataa Ladies, and Lakshya won Best Debut Actor (Male) for Ba*Ds of Bollywood. Kunal Kemmu and Aditya Suhas Jambhale were awarded Best Debut Director for their films Madgaon Express and Article 370, respectively.

The occasion coincided with Amitabh Bachchan’s 83rd birthday on October 11. Known for his performances in films such as Deewaar, Sholay, Don, Agneepath, and Kabhi Kabhie, Big B has received numerous accolades, including National Film Awards and sixteen Filmfare Awards.

The 70th Filmfare Awards 2025 highlighted both emerging talent and the legacy of Bollywood’s iconic figures.
