The Andhra Pradesh government has nearly completed the allotment of returnable plots to farmers who contributed land for the Amaravati capital project, Minister Narayana said after reviewing ongoing development works in the region.

According to the minister, over 30,000 farmers pooled more than 35,000 acres for the construction of the capital city. Most beneficiaries have already received their plots, while a few pending cases are linked to court disputes , family settlements, and eligibility-related issues.

He said nearly 90 percent of the allotted plots have already been registered, with delays in the remaining cases caused by legal complications involving assigned lands, gifted lands , and endowment properties.

Rejecting allegations of irregularities, Narayana stated that the allotment process was conducted through a transparent lottery system in the presence of farmers. He accused the YSR Congress Party of attempting to politicise the issue through false allegations.

The minister said major infrastructure works , including trunk roads, layout roads, employee housing projects, and residential towers for legislators, are progressing according to schedule. He added that residences for MLAs, MLCs, senior officials, and ministers are nearing completion.

Narayana also said the government aims to complete the proposed Iconic Towers in Amaravati by August 2028 as part of the capital’s long-term development plan.

On land acquisition , the minister clarified that notifications were issued only in areas where farmers had not joined the Land Pooling Scheme and where acquisition became unavoidable.
