The Punjab Police on Thursday dismantled a cross-border drug and arms smuggling network with the arrest of three individuals and the recovery of a significant cache of narcotics and firearms, officials said.

Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav stated that the accused were found in possession of 915 grams of ICE (methamphetamine) along with five sophisticated pistols and two live cartridges . The seized weapons include two 9mm Glock pistols and three .30 bore pistols .

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha (21) , Sola Singh alias Sonu (29) , and Karan Singh (22) , all residents of Sahanke village in Ferozepur district .

According to the police, preliminary investigations revealed that the trio was in direct contact with Pakistan-based smugglers through social media platforms. They were allegedly receiving consignments of drugs and arms via drones from across the international border , acting as local handlers for further distribution within India.

Sharing operational details, Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the arrests were made following specific intelligence inputs . He added that consignments were typically dropped in densely forested areas in the Ferozepur sector , from where the accused would retrieve and transport them to various destinations.

Police officials said further investigation is underway to uncover the broader network, including international links and local distribution channels.
