77% First Year, 81% Second Year: AP Inter Results 2026 Set 12-Year Record

Andhra Pradesh witnessed a record-breaking academic performance with the announcement of the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) 2026 results , marking the highest pass percentages in 12 years . The results, released by Education Minister Nara Lokesh on April 15, showed that 77% first-year and 81% second-year students successfully cleared the exams, reflecting a steady rise in academic outcomes across the state. More than 10.5 lakh students appeared for the examinations conducted between February and March.

Continuing the trend of recent years, girls outperformed boys in both categories, reinforcing improvements in female education and academic participation. The results also highlighted a significant boost in government junior colleges , where 54% first-year and 68% second-year students passed marking one of the best performances in over a decade and indicating stronger public education systems .

A district-wise analysis confirmed Krishna district as the top performer in the state, maintaining its lead with consistently high pass percentages, followed by Guntur , NTR district , and Visakhapatnam , which also reported strong results. However, regional disparities persist, with districts like Annamayya lagging behind, prompting the government to focus on targeted interventions to bridge the gap.

In a notable shift, the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP) has not released a detailed Top 10 merit list , continuing its recent policy of avoiding rank-based announcements to reduce academic pressure. However, subject-wise topper details are expected separately.

To ensure seamless access, students were able to check their results through multiple platforms, including the official website, DigiLocker , and the ‘Mana Mitra’ WhatsApp service , reducing server congestion and improving accessibility during peak hours.

The government has also announced Advanced Supplementary Examinations starting from May 21 , offering students a second opportunity to improve their scores without losing an academic year. Additionally, provisions for recounting and reverification have been opened, ensuring transparency in the evaluation process.

Addressing students and parents, Minister Nara Lokesh emphasized the importance of resilience and urged those who did not meet expectations to remain confident. He called for emotional support from families and society, stressing that setbacks should be seen as stepping stones to future success while reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening the state’s education system.
