Seven personnel of the Central Reserve Police Forc e (CRPF) were injured on Saturday after their vehicle lost control and plunged into a river in the Ahmadnagar area on the outskirts of Srinagar, officials said.

The accident occurred on the Dagpora-Umerhair Road when the vehicle skidded on the roadway and overturned before falling into the water channel alongside the road. Preliminary findings suggest that slippery surface conditions and loss of control at a sharp stretch of the road may have contributed to the mishap.

Local residents and security personnel rushed to the spot and assisted in rescuing the injured jawans from the vehicle. They were immediately shifted to the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) hospital in Soura for treatment.

Hospital authorities said all seven personnel are under medical observation and their condition is stable . None of the injuries have been reported as life-threatening.
