61 grievances filed at HYDRAA Prajavani

Several citizens voiced serious concerns about encroachments on public lands, parks, roads, and lakes during the HYDRAA Prajavani grievance redressal program held on Monday. Participants alleged that lands meant for community use were being taken over for private gain and appealed to officials to act against those responsible.

Residents said that greed and political influence were driving these land grabs, putting thousands of people at a disadvantage. Many participants also appreciated HYDRAA officials for their proactive approach in addressing public issues and said they attended the session with hope that their complaints would be resolved swiftly.

According to HYDRAA officials, a total of 61 complaints were received during Monday’s Prajavani session. Additional Commissioner N. Ashok Kumar reviewed the submissions and assigned them to the concerned departments for prompt action.

Major complaints raised:

• Ranga Reddy District (Balapur Mandal):

Residents of Mallapur village reported that two parks and two roads in the AMR Township had been encroached upon.

• Sangareddy District (Ramachandrapuram Mandal):

The Sainagar Colony Welfare Association alleged that government lands in their area were being illegally occupied.

• Ameerpet Mandal:

Locals complained that 1,550 square yards of land designated for a park in survey numbers 102/1 and 102/3 were under encroachment.

• Ameenpur (Sangareddy):

Residents said that raising the bund of the Pedda Cheruvu (lake) and closing four outlets expanded the lake area from 93 to 400 acres, submerging nearby layouts. The excess waterlogging, they added, caused smaller downstream lakes to dry up.

• Pocharam Municipality (Medchal-Malkajgiri):

People of Sri Venkata Sai Colony said that 1,967 square yards of land allocated for a school building was being encroached upon and requested immediate fencing.

• Manikonda (Ranga Reddy):

Locals requested that 1.10 acres out of 1.23 acres of government land be developed into a public park.

• Guttalabegumpet (Serilingampally Mandal):

Residents urged protection of the Medikunta Lake, saying ongoing encroachments were threatening groundwater recharge in the area. They asked HYDRAA to clear all illegal constructions and restore the lake fully.

HYDRAA Prajavani - Citizen connect

The HYDRAA Prajavani program is organized every Monday at the HYDRAA office, where citizens can directly submit complaints related to civic and land issues. Officials then review the petitions and assign them to relevant departments for resolution.
