496 Returnable Plots Allotted to Amaravati Farmers

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) on Friday allotted 115 returnable plots to farmers who contributed land for the greenfield capital city of Amaravati through a transparent e-lottery process . This brings the cumulative number of returnable plots distributed to farmers to 496 across all phases of the land pooling scheme .

The allotment process, aimed at ensuring fair and equitable distribution of urban plots among participating farmers, was part of the government’s ongoing land pooling initiative for Amaravati’s development . While 145 plots were originally planned for allotment today across 16 CRDA units , farmers associated with 30 plots requested postponement, resulting in only 115 plots being allotted . APCRDA officials emphasized that all allotted plots remain within the land originally pooled for Amaravati , and no external land has been included, highlighting the voluntary and transparent nature of the process.

Under today’s distribution, villages such as Kurugallu, Velagapudi, Malkapuram, Mandadam, Nidamarru, Penumaka, Lingayapalem, Nelapadu, Nekkallu, Anantavaram, and Dondapadu received plots in accordance with their share of contributed land . Nidamarru received the highest number of plots, reflecting the extent of land pooled from that area.

The Amaravati land pooling scheme allows farmers to voluntarily contribute their agricultural land for the development of the capital . In return, they receive returnable plots within the developed urban area , giving them a direct stake in the city’s growth and enabling them to benefit from the economic value of urban development . Andhra Pradesh has pooled a total of 54,000 acres for Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s Amaravati project , of which 34,281 acres were contributed by 29,881 farmers from 29 villages . The government has also launched Phase 2 of land pooling to further expand the city’s land bank , allowing more farmers to participate.

Officials said the e-lottery system ensures transparency and fairness in the plot allotment process . Farmers who postponed their allotment today will receive their plots in upcoming rounds. The initiative represents a key step in realizing the government’s vision of a modern, planned capital , while giving farmers a long-term stake in Amaravati’s urban growth and development .
