473 Women Constables Pass Out in Vizianagaram as Home Minister Anitha Stresses Public Safety

State Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha urged newly trained women police constables to discharge their duties with courage, commitment and a strong sense of responsibility, stressing that public safety must remain their primary objective.

Speaking at the passing-out parade of 473 women police constables of the 2025–26 batch in Vizianagaram on Monday, Anitha said the recruits should confidently take on their professional responsibilities while also maintaining a balance between their duties in uniform and family commitments. She encouraged them to become role models for other young women aspiring to enter public service.

The Home Minister interacted with the newly trained constables and enquired about their experiences during the nine-month training programme. She discussed the challenges they faced during training and heard about their experiences of achieving their long-held ambition of joining the police force.

Anitha highlighted the determination of Ophelia, a woman constable who completed her training despite her father being hospitalised. She said her perseverance reflected the commitment required in public service and described her journey as an inspiration to others.

Congratulating all the recruits on successfully completing their training, Anitha said their achievement was the result of months of hard work, discipline and determination. The discipline and courage developed during training, she added, would serve as a strong foundation as they begin their careers.

The Minister called upon the constables to approach policing with a spirit of service and remain focused on protecting citizens. She said their conduct while performing their duties would play an important role in building public confidence in the police department.

Anitha also inaugurated newly established fire stations in Vizianagaram district. She personally inaugurated facilities at Pusapatirega and Bobbili, while the fire stations at Sompeta and Palakonda were opened virtually.

The government has invested ₹7.80 crore to provide the necessary infrastructure and facilities at the newly established centres. Anitha praised fire service personnel for their efforts to protect lives and property during emergencies, often working in dangerous conditions.

She said the government had been taking steps over the past two years to strengthen the Fire Services Department by improving infrastructure and providing modern equipment. The government was also working towards establishing fire stations in every constituency to ensure that emergency services reach people more quickly during disasters and other critical situations, she said.
