
45-year-old Indian origin woman killed in stabbing incident in Canada
A 45-year-old Indian-origin woman was fatally stabbed in LaSalle town in Ontario, Canada , prompting a homicide investigation by local authorities. Police said the incident occurred just before 9:30 pm on March 3 in a residential area on Todd Lane in Essex County .
According to the LaSalle Police Service , the victim has been identified as Nancy Grewal , a resident of nearby Windsor . Officers responded to reports of an injured woman at the location and found Grewal suffering from serious wounds. She was transported to a hospital by Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services , but later succumbed to her injuries , police said.
Investigators have described the case as a homicide and are continuing their efforts to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack. In an official statement, police said they currently believe the incident to be isolated , though the investigation remains ongoing.
Authorities have secured several areas near the crime scene, including two homes, an empty parking lot and a stretch of nearby woodland off Todd Lane, as part of the evidence-gathering process. Media reports noted that police evidence markers were placed on the front lawn of a residence in the neighbourhood while forensic teams examined the site.
Police are appealing to the public for assistance. Residents living in the area have been asked to review and share any available video surveillance footage that might help investigators establish what happened before and after the incident.
