
4.1 magnitude earthquake strikes Arunachal Pradesh, no damage reported
A 4.1 magnitude earthquake shook West Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday morning, officials said.
The epicenter of the quake was located in West Kameng, with a shallow depth of 5 km , according to the National Center for Seismology . The tremor struck at 8:57 am , and residents reported feeling mild shaking in nearby towns and villages.
Nyelam Sunil, technical officer at the Itanagar-based Centre for Earth Science and Himalayan Studies , confirmed the earthquake, describing it as mild. No casualties or significant property damage have been reported so far , and local authorities are continuing to monitor the situation.
Despite the tremor, daily life in the region remains unaffected, and officials have advised residents to stay alert for any aftershocks.
